"STREET MUSEUM" J.M. Ciria
Opening April 13
Calle Almaden, 13 Madrid
from 12 noon
“STREET MUSEUM” BY JM CIRIA
The always risky José Manuel Ciria returns to Madrid with an exhibition that breaks the walls of the Blanca Soto Gallery and takes over part of the Barrio de Las Letras. Almadén street will become his exhibition space where he shows the work 'Ataraxia'.
Ciria's proposal focuses on a poetic and philosophical reflection on Ataraxia, a concept that for years has tried to define various currents of thought. It is the absence of disturbance, a state of serenity and tranquility. An order of balance without disturbance in correspondence with reason, feelings and the soul.
Despite the large dimensions of this exhibition, the public will also be able to appreciate a series of creations in different formats on the street and inside the Blanca Soto Arte Gallery.
The project could be defined as a Museum on the street, a cultural project to be shown as a way of democratizing art in the open and that all visitors can enjoy. "Street Museum" will extend along Calle Almadén and up to Calle San Pedro, in the Barrio de las Letras y las Artes.
A 70 m long and 3.5 m wide canvas will be installed, the work of the artist, which will be placed on the roof between the facades of the buildings, several paintings will hang from the walls and the artist will intervene on the bollards and various blinds to art work along the street, inside the Madrid Museum Triangle, Thyssen, Reina Sofía, El Prado, Caixa Forum, Medialab el Prado, ICO.
